New draft Planon

[edit]

Hi all,

I'm currently working on drafting the Wikipedia page for Planon, which already exists in Dutch for quite a while.

I saw that this page was created by another author some years ago and was nominated for speedy deletion due to reasons G11 and G12.

Although I haven't reviewed the previous content, I think this draft should meet those criteria? However, I welcome any feedback or adjustments from more experienced users, and maybe also someone from the WikiProject Software would want to review this draft (once ready, currently still working on it).

Thanks,

  • Stella2707, as far as I can see this draft meets the requirements for speedy deletion via WP:G11. Drmies (talk) 20:41, 2 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for your feedback! Curious to hear why - is it the tone (open to any changes here!) or the notability of the topic? With the recent acquisitions and the market-leader position which results in quite some news coverage within the FM industry, I think this legitimates the existence of a Wikipedia entry? But I am open to any changes or narrowing down the entry to only the summary and the acquisitions for now and leave its expansion up to the community?
Happy to hear your thoughts and advice on that! Stella2707 (talk) 21:17, 2 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

WP:THREE

[edit]

Hi there,

Following @Kvng's advice, I've compiled a list of the WP:THREE sources that should help establish the notability of this topic:

  1. Verdantix report on Schneider Electric’s partnership/minority acquisition of Planon.[1]
  2. Facilities Management Journal article on the partnership between SAP and Planon.[2]
  3. Facilities Management Magazine coverage of Planon’s position in the Verdantix 2022 Green Quadrant.[3]

Why those? Verdantix is well-known for its independent and insightful research in the technology and sustainability sectors. Both Facilities Management Journal (FMJ) and Facilities Management Magazine (FM) are highly respected and credible within the real estate and facilities management industries.

Again, happy for feedback and help on this draft! Thanks,

Thanks Stella2707. Reliable sources have an WP:INDEPENDENT take on the subjects they cover. One concern with these sources is I suspect they are based closely on press releases because they are labeled as posts, not articles, or don't have a byline. ~Kvng (talk) 13:27, 10 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hi @Kvng,
Thanks for your feedback! Just to clarify, FMJ and FMIndustry did indeed cover recent news, but it was rewritten by their authors.

Verdantix also reported on the Schneider acquisition and discussed its impact on the market.Although these sources are a bit older, they’re not just rehashing press releases; [4] [5] they even mention Planon's competitors like Spacewell, MRI, or AppFolio, adding some context. Considering their approach, I’d say their credibility as an independent research firm is quite solid?
