Materialists is an upcoming American romantic comedy film written and directed by Celine Song.
It will be released in the United States by A24.
Premise
[edit]Set in New York City, the film follows the story of a match-maker, her ex-boyfriend and a wealthy businessman.

Production
[edit]Materialists, written and directed by Celine Song, was announced in February 2024 with producers Christine Vachon and Pamela Koffler of Killer Films and David Hinojosa of 2AM, and starring Dakota Johnson, Chris Evans and Pedro Pascal. In the same month, Deadline reported[1] the producers were looking for financiers and A24 was attached as their international sales agent and local distributor, taking the movie to find investors in the European Film Market.
Two weeks later, Deadline reported that Sony Pictures had acquired international rights outside of Russia, China, and Japan at the European Film Market.[2]
Principal photography then began on April 29, 2024, in New York City and wrapped filming on June 6.[3][4][5] In May 2024, Zoë Winters, Dasha Nekrasova, Louisa Jacobson and Marin Ireland had been announced to have joined the cast.[6]
