[edit]

The school was established 1 January 1995,[4] initially struggling "with money woes and accusations of financial mismanagement."[5]

In 2018, seven students were taken to hospital after a drug overdose;[5][6][7] they were all expelled after the last student was released from hospital.[8] Another two students suffered an overdose and subsequently taken to hospital the following year in 2019.[9]

In 2020 october 28th. A yound students in grade 7 was enjoying a P.E. Lesson on the Oval when disaster struck. A javelin was thrown and when the student went to retrieve the item accidently impales himself with the javelin with part of the javelin stuck inside of him. The boy was rushed to hospital at 11AM. The javelin was imbedded into the ground where he tripped over it. Fire screws were used to remove the ends of the javelin. QAS operation supervisor Stewart Cutajar said the boy’s injury was “non life-threatening with very minimal blood loss”. “(He was) very lucky, my word,” he added Moore, H. (2020, October 28). For the more recent past (2019-2023) there have been 4 different principles truly showing the school is in a much needed refreshment period looking for that new and improved reputation they so desperately need. However things are looking good, with teachers on the high alert to try and turn things around. Senior school'' Not all teachers are like this and could be referenced as questionable. On the eye some already look unfit for the job. And the teaching ways and student management skills are well below average to say the least. If you do your research it wouldnt be hard to find some parents and reports saying the school is toxic, wasteful and poisonous. As long as you fly under the radar and do whats necessary this should not play any effect on your daughter or son. The school in most cases does not handle troublesome situations very well and let unjustifiable situations pass with minimal punishment and in most cases the students will just keep on doing the same thing. Years 11 and 12 will have an exam block towards the end of each term where your child will have the week off classes and will be allowed to stay home and study for there exams. Sport

Years 4-12 allows your child to choose and participate in sporting activities once a week against various other APS schools on the Gold Coast. These sporting activities run on a two term period. the season plays out on a Ladder based event having finals at the end. Grade 12 with all the studies they have to endure do not have to participate in any sporting activity. But they will have to use this time to sit in the library and do any work required.

Primary School The primary school is a lot more smooth. With teachers choosing there passion (teaching) over the money and making sure each student has what they need in order to succeed. Early age Primary school (prep-year 3) are all in the same area at the top of the school. And then years 4-6 are also together. The SSC Way Perseverance, Responsibility, Integrity, Diversity, Empathy. PRIDE. The acronyms just read are the school core values. When these values have been shown years 7-12 students will be recognized and applaused once every two weeks at assembley. To the school this is more than just values but there blood. Across your schooling life the school will hammer these into in order to set you up for your life in the big wide world.
