Southern Garrett High School is a public high school in Oakland, Maryland, United States,[1][2] with approximately 700 students.[1] The school mascot is a Ram,[2] and the school colors are red and white. Southern High opened in 1952 hosting grades 7-12 as a junior-senior high school.In 1976 Southern Middle opened,grades 7-8 at Southern High were moved to the middle school.In early 2024 Southern High announced they would reintroducing the 7-8th to their school.Southern High has a rich history and is truly a special school.
