Blackout Era of Britain and the helpful family

[edit]

A quick question/clarification [this is to improve the article, I promise!]

Was it during the first term of Thatcher [ie: 1979-83]?

And I know that during 1984 a lot of lights were turned off due to the miners' strikes and related phenomena.

The major miners' strike in Margaret Thatcher's term as prime minister was the UK miners' strike (1984–85). However there were not major blackouts at that time, and you may be thinking of the Three-Day Week in 1973-74, when Edward Heath was prime minister. Also see National Union of Mineworkers (Great Britain). What has this got to do with this article? Verbcatcher (talk) 11:22, 6 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
