Death of Ronnie Peterson

[edit]

I think there should be a seperate article on the death of Ronnie Peterson, it should have everything from the chrash and the hospital.

This has lots of details of what excatly happened.

I have advertised this discussion at WT:F1 and Talk:Ronnie Peterson. For those who are interested here is the draft:Death of Ronnie Peterson.

I'm not convinced a seperate article for this is warranted. I don't think it is sufficiently independently notable for that. I'm not convinced of the reliability of the sources listed here either. There just is too much subjectivity in there. The writer limited knowledge on fat embolism and their misguided accusations resulting from that are especially telling.Tvx1 09:43, 13 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I don't think separate article about his death is warranted, it can be covered sufficiently in his own article and the race article. Joseph2302 (talk) 15:07, 13 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • I think some racing deaths are notable enough to warrant their own article, since otherwise it would make driver and race articles overly long, and would also avoid large amounts of duplication of information. However in this case, I did see the draft before it was deleted and although it was fairly long, all of the citations were to the same website linked above which probably isn't considered a reliable source. But I definitely think if someone expanded the information sufficiently either on this article or on Ronnie Peterson then it could be spun off into its own article. We already have Death of Ayrton Senna, but I think a few others like maybe Wolfgang von Trips and Jochen Rindt were also notable enough to have their own "death of" article due to the lasting effects they had.
