Copyvio check - reviewed all matches over 5% found on Earwig's Copyvio Detector, no concerns.

Images - both CC, appropriate, placement and captions are fine, although on my desktop view the first image causes the intro text of the prize fund section to be somewhat indented.

Background/ Prize fund

  • "in last year's final" - should be "the previous year's final"
  • "Sponsored by the electronics retailer Maplin for the first time,[4] it had a total prize fund of £552,500.." as the 2005 final has just been mentioned, cinsider something like "the 2006 tournament had" instead of "it had"
  • "All matches held between 4 and 16 December were the best-of-17-frames until the final on 17 December" - slight reword needed. The earlier matches remained best-of-17 after the final too.

Tournament summary

  • I amended what looked like a typo in "Denbighshire"
  • "The qualifying rounds were played between players on the main tour ranked 33 and lower for one of 32 places in the final stage at Pontin's Snooker Centre, in Prestatyn, Denbighshire, Wales, from 14 to 19 November." doesn't all seem to be supported by sources cited there.
  • "the likes of" could be removed.
  • "opponent world number 27 Marco Fu withdrew" to "opponent, world number 27 Marco Fu, withdrew" (I think)
  • "Scots" can be removed in the couple of instances where it occurs, unless there's a reason to retain it, but I dont think that two Scottish players meeting is particularly notable.
  • "Another world champion John Higgins" - I think needs commas around "John Higgins"
  • "an incorrect potting position" - I think this is a bit different from the source which mentions him losing position.
  • "Ebdon won four successive frames lead Ding" - probably missing a word
  • "docked 900 ranking points" - consider adding some context (e.g. how, if at all, did it affect his ranking?)
  • "but it was narrowed by one frame" - reword, along the lines of "his lead was narrowed..."
  • "Hendry's 22 clearance" - looks from the source like it was an attempt at a clearance, that failed.
  • "only century break of the match, a 116 clearance to be two frames" - I think needs a comma after "116"
  • "After the game a tearful Ebdon" - I think needs a comma after "game"
  • "his relief to complete the task" - looks like a wording chosed to avoid close paraphrasing, doesn't seem very natural. Consider re-wording.
  • "potting", "red" is not wikilinked at the first instance.
  • Not necessary to link "£" but not a blocker to GA IMO.

Main draw/Final

  • No issues.

Qualifying

  • "at Pontins, Prestatyn, Wales." - source only has "Pontins"

Century breaks

  • No issues.

Notes

  • quarterfinal should be hyphenated, I believe.

References

  • Suitable range of sources used. No concerns from me about reliability. I thought the links via Infotrac Newsstand might be missing page numbers, but none are stated.

Breadth/Depth/Neutrality - no issues. NPOV maintained, level of coverage is appropriate.

Infobox and Lead

  • "30th edition of the tournament" - not explict in article body, possibly justified by WP:CALC
  • "10–6" - could be "10 frames to 6" with wikilink for frames.

Thanks for your work on the article, MWright96. I've made some suggestions above. Regards, BennyOnTheLoose (talk) 13:11, 13 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
