Candidates - Green Party

[edit]

There are candidates listed in the Green Party column which are not here: http://ilgp.org/elections/2008-primaries#CongressionalCampaigns but I noticed at least some are listed as 'opponents' on Project Vote Smart pages for the other candidates. Does anyone know what the deal is? Flatterworld (talk) 17:00, 8 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Is Alan Augustson noteworthy?

Hello: an acquaintance of mine is referenced in this article but does not have a page, and I'm trying to determine if he should. I'm new to Wikipedia, and the materials and guidelines I've found thus far confuse me. Can someone help? CyndiMcIncheese (talk) 20:05, 22 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Cyndi. Sad news, it looks to me like you'll not soon be able to boast of an acquaintance with his own WP page :) . A quick search for his name and "green party" on Google News doesn't bring up enough independent RS to establish notability. Bromley86 (talk) 00:30, 23 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks Bromley! Although you might want to try your search through google.com, rather than google.co.nz, as he has a Kiwi namesake who appears to be fairly prominent in a different field. My own search turned up pages of material, but I am still trying to determine what's independent and reliable.CyndiMcIncheese (talk) 12:12, 29 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Cheers CyndiMcIncheese! Seems like I'm guilty of being provincial; it hadn't occurred to me that the results might be different. Thankfully, they seem to be the same, at least for the News tab (which is what I looked at - took me ages to force Google to search ".com" instead of ".co.nz").[1] You may find RS on the "All" tab, but the couple of pages that I looked at were blogs, which usually aren't enough.
