Darian

[edit]

An article on Darian could be necessary. It’s meteorological history is long, so we could probably do what we did with Hurricane Genevieve (2014). Also, there is probably some minor impacts on the Cocos Islands, 71.60.111.20 (talk) 21:58, 31 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed. And the beginning of paragraph 2 needs clarification. Munchyhunch (talk) 14:01, 1 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I think Darian doesn't deserve an article as we have two seasons (an article) and multiple paragraphs. (WP:NOPAGE) HurricaneEdgar 15:05, 1 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Unable to view JTWC page

[edit]

Personally, I cannot view the JTWC official page. Is it restricted to specific people or am I encountering some special issues? Typhoonnerd (talk) 03:24, 24 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Maybe the website (U. S. navy) is blocked in your country. You can try the mirror site. IntegerSequences (talk | contribs) 04:12, 24 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Cheneso article

[edit]

Hello there, Wikipedian! As the death toll continues to rise, I intend to publish the article once I finish the lead and other tasks. Thank You HurricaneEdgar 13:26, 27 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Cyclone Freddy article

[edit]

freddy is almost a cat 5 and is a pretty notable fish storm. its also heading directly for madagascar and nearby islands so if it does impact the island like batsirai or emnati last year then i personally think its pretty notable Rainbow Galaxy POC (talk) 20:21, 15 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

also the link to the article is Draft:Cyclone Freddy (2023) Rainbow Galaxy POC (talk) 20:21, 15 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

i agree on that as forecast track shows a direct hit to Madagascar in 5 days in level like cheneso. i think it deserves an article for itself Typhoonnerd (talk) 13:48, 16 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The draft won't be moved to article space just yet, give it some time to expand, especially the "Preparations and impact" section, where it is currently an empty section. Once it nears landfall/is expanded enough/enough data is collected, then it could be moved to article space. But for now? Not yet. Tails Wx 03:39, 17 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Wikipedia:Notability_(weather)#Tropical_cyclones A storm is considered to be notable if there is significant coverage of the storm. HurricaneEdgar 09:10, 17 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, looks like preparations are ongoing, looks ready to become an article now. Tails Wx 01:26, 18 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
