There are no independent sources for this article. Corvus cornix 04:52, 22 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I have tried to reword the article to remove what I thought might be considered unverifiable claims. Is there anything left on this page that requires an independent source for verification? Might I ask why you have chosen to flag this article? Are you an "official" Wikipedia editor?Awcolley 17:18, 22 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
All editors on Wikipedia are official editors, and all editors have the right to request that the rules be followed, as in WP:V and WP:RS. There are still no independent sources. Corvus cornix 19:41, 22 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
What specific claims or statements in this article do you feel warrant independent verification? Do you want some newpaper article that mentions ACQTC to verify that the organization even exists? Awcolley 21:30, 22 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
That would be a start, considering that I could create my own website and claim to be the Grand Sachem of the Unrepentant Lakota of the Northern Plains, or something, and then create an article about the organization I just made up. I am not saying that that is what is happening here, but we need external sources that verify that this organization in fact exists. Corvus cornix 17:19, 23 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
In the article I have worked in a couple of references to articles from the Branford Review (a weekly newspaper in Branford, Connecticut). In addition, in a brief Google search I have found these references to ACQTC which are not just links to or quotes of the acqtc.com website. I could not work these into the text of the article without sounding too contrived.

I have found yet another reference to the existence of ACQTC via melissadata.com; it even lists their tax ID number. The link is provided in endnote #1. Do you still feel this article falls short of Wikipedia requirements? Awcolley 04:40, 25 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

What's melissadata.com? The problem is that the links need to follow WP:RS. The Branford Review might qualify, but I'm not sure about the other links. Corvus cornix 17:40, 26 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
It's one of several websites providing access to / summary of IRS (United States Internal Revenue Service) data on non-profit organizations. The forms filed by NPOs are made publicly available by the IRS. If you really cared, you could have simply followed the link. Awcolley 03:48, 26 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Quinnipiac / Iron Thunderhorse

[edit]

This is part of the strangest collection of articles I've come across in Wikipedia. I am going to revamp this article (WP:TNT), but want to preserve links to the previous versions. This unrecognized organization, Algonquian Confederacy of the Quinnipiac Tribal Council, was led by Iron Thunderhorse (William L. Coppola). User:Awcolley added to these articles based on writing that Thunderhorse provided him from prison. Awcolley became disenchanted with Thunderhorse and gave up defending him and shared the information about his imprisonment.

Wow. That explains a lot. I'm going to delete the email address/phone. Doug Weller talk 06:59, 5 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for doing that! I'm surprised this organization is still going, but it appears that they are electing new officers even this year. Yuchitown (talk) 18:38, 5 April 2023 (UTC)Yuchitown[reply]
