Is it just me or does that page look a bit too much like astroturfing?

I agree. I am an avid skier and Alta is unquestionably one of the best mountains in the US, if not all of North America. That being said, the article does not use neutral voice and does not have enough citations to meet Wiki criteria. This article should be part of Wikipedia, but needs some work to become a true encyclopedic reference. I plan to do some editing to see if I can clean up some of the problems. Fair use rationale for Image:Alta.PNG

[edit]

Image:Alta.PNG is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 17:41, 31 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I love Alta... but this article is more of an advertisement than an encyclopedia entry. Far too many unsubstantiated claims and ridiculous statements... "Many skiers feel that Alta's culture and atmosphere of "old school" or "authentic" ski culture is the way skiing should be." Nrbelex (talk) 20:58, 3 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Adding the tag again - not much has changed... Nrbelex (talk) 04:46, 7 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Got rid of a bunch of boosterism so I replaced the advert tag with a Refimprove tag. Nrbelex (talk) 17:53, 12 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
