Fallen officers

[edit]

In this section, a fallen officer is listed as having died in 1992 while escorting a man to an ATM. lolwut68.96.52.71 (talk) 00:26, 8 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Needs rewrite, possible split

[edit]

This is basically advertising for the "Arizona Rangers" 501c which, as the articles admit, started decades after the Arizona Rangers were disbanded. The information about the real Arizona Rangers should exist on Wikipedia without the distraction of this possibly non-notable organization. This article Arizona_Rangers should be about the historical Arizona Rangers and no more than a section should be about this new mall cop organization. If more is needed it should be put on a separate page. --SoyBenjamin (talk) 22:58, 14 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I agree that the article needs to be rewritten and the original law enforcement agency needs to be distinguished from the modern organization. Unfortunately, a lot of literature on the subject conflates the two. However, there are similar unofficial auxiliaries with articles on Wikipedia, such as the Illinois Police Reserves. 72.222.245.54 (talk) 05:26, 3 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Then allow me to speak up for the original orignal Arizona Rangers, as established by the Territory in 1860 and reconstituted in 1882; in whatever form they took, their existence cannot be denied. I believe the subject "Arizona Rangers" as a title for research may have as much or more to do with the 19th century organizations as with the more modern reincarnations. Their passing mention in this entry all but denigrates their agency. I would therefore suggest an orderly historic review of the titled subject, or some form of split as mentioned in the opening of this discussion. Note that I have no expert knowledge in this subject but I have sought information about the earliest Arizona Rangers as a research topic. Zanski (talk) 05:17, 20 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
