Qualification period

[edit]

Just a reminder. When editing theses lists, please keep in mind the relevant qualification period. The IAAF Toplists include all results for the calendar year. However, the qualification period for most events started May 1. Results achieved in March or April are not important as far as qualifying for the Olympics is concerned. --Phileasson (talk) 18:52, 27 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

please can you update the information, for example Colombia has 3 quotas in the men 20 km racewalk, and in the list you only put one. Please the information you have is uncomplete. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 186.115.171.177 (talk) 22:31, 3 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  • Based on the ref Colombia only has 1 quota in Men's 20km racewalk. While 2 athletes have reached the B standard, only the 1 that reached the A standard is counted (and besides only a maximum of 1 athlete in the B standard can be included, if there was none in the A standard).JoshMartini007 (talk) 22:57, 3 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
    • I have a set of automated scripts that pulls the data from the IAAF site. When I get around to updating them to include indoor and 2012 results, I'll once again do periodic updates. Because I currently access the internet via UMTS, the IAAF site is broken to me right now for some reason, so I can't do that at the moment. Will return to it, though, because it's very easy to miss things when updating manually. MrYIndeed (talk) 08:51, 4 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I update the information about Colombia. Colombia has 2 women with A standar in Women Marathon and two with A standar in 20 km Racewalk. You can see the information here in the Colombia Olympic Committe: http://coc.org.co/web/images/stories/PDF/Clasificados_Londres/clasificados_a_mayo_6_1.pdf — Preceding unsigned comment added by 186.31.13.11 (talk) 01:02, 7 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

non-selected athletes

[edit]

Why there have been added athletes which were never selected to the games? One example is Finland's Olli-Pekka Karjalainen who lost in the final qualification to David Söderberg. 82.141.94.110 (talk) 01:12, 26 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
