Reason article should not be deleted: ASO is a Public figure: he is the brother of Aung San Suu Kyi, a person with a world-wide reputation, and is being used by Burma's military rulers in their campaign to discredit her. He has been featured in news media of note (TIME, the Economist), and is a well-known figure in Burmese poiltics. PiCo 00:07, 16 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I am happy to believe that that is so, and I suspect that far less notable people from USA/UK have articles, but the article must demonstrate why he is noteworthy, and at present it does not. Having a dispute in the courts over an inheritance is not noteworthy (although the dispute might be worth mentioning on ASSK's article), not following the political thought of one's father is not noteworthy, and being a supporter of an unpopular government is not noteworthy. Neither article cited makes any claim for his noteworthiness in his own right, beyond that he is an engineer living in San Diego. Kevin McE 08:48, 16 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Still no claim of noteworthiness on this page. Believing him to be a public figure with a world wide reputation means nothing in encyclopaedic terms if it is not verified. Kevin McE 20:32, 9 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Ascribing the man a "world-wide erputation" would be a stretch even for me :). But he does have a reputation within the circles that take an interest in Burmese politics - the politics that keeps on going when the camera crews have all left. He gets mentioned in Irrawaddy, for example - the Burmese diaspora's answer to the New York Times - and we have the cites in the article to prove it. PiCo 06:49, 11 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

When was he born? What is his age? This article reads like a political propaganda piece, rather than an encyclopedia article. 74.68.59.29 (talk) 21:33, 11 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
