Madagascar?

[edit]

I've done some comparing and I think the aircraft involved in the movie: Madagascar might be the Beechcraft 18 in the article. should it be included in the article? Or should I do more research, or is it not important enough to include? because the plane in the movie could just be a "generic World War II aircraft." Per WP:AIRPOP, aircraft appearing in fictional media should be added to the aircraft in fiction article, not the article about the aircraft itself. However, the aircraft's identity and role should be properly sourced and cited, which is probably an insurmountable order for a very cartoonish animated film starring talking anthropomorphic animals. Someone directly involved in creating the film would probably need to have gone on the record saying that it's deliberately modeled after a Beech 18. (Incidentally, the film's online fan community seems to think it's a Lockheed Model 14 Super Electra, noting the unique empennage, its overall size, and the number of side windows.) Yeah. I had thought about the Electras, and they might be a better contender, but I don't think I have the will or the power to try to find and ask anyone involved. It could be a 'reference' to Amelia Earhart's model 10, but the (passengers), location and size/looks of the plane doesn't make that idea very viable.
