BCM or bcm or both

[edit]

I have had an interesting conversation on Quora

https://www.quora.com/What-is-are-Europe-s-EU-alternative-source-of-energy-if-they-dont-buy-Russias-gas

in which the BCM was cited as a standard unit.

The DAB at BCM did not mention this unit (I have fixed that) but the redir at bcm did point here.

But our page says Billion cubic metres of natural gas (abbreviated: bcm)... [1] and does not mention BCM as an alternative.

I have asked on Quora for clarification of this. Either the person there (who eventually cited the this article, that's how I found it... obviously I was not persistent enough before) is wrong, or Wikipedia is.

If it's Wikipedia, we need to fix it of course. Either way probably some more work required. Andrewa (talk) 05:30, 14 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I see that billion cubic feet redirects to cubic foot but that article currently uses BCF rather than bcf. [2] Interesting. Sources badly needed.

But I think that on the evidence so far, the claim abbreviated: bcm is unsupported and probably false. In the absence of any objection here I will change it to upper case. Andrewa (talk) 17:56, 14 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
