A better location should be found for the Stadtbahn logo, so that it is not before the text right at the top. --Credema 16:08, 2 September 2007 (UTC) I have moved it for now, if any one has a better idea for the placement of the images then just put them in a better location --Credema 16:17, 2 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Proposal to merge from Juridicum (SWB) and Universität/Markt (SWB)

[edit]

The article Juridicum (SWB) was created recently, and it was proposed to merge to Bonn Stadtbahn. I've added the template to the Universität/Markt (SWB) article, as it is part of the same network and its notability is still unclear. I don't know whether these stations are considered notable enough for articles – railway stations are, if part of a national network, but these appear to be tram stations – and there are no references in either of the articles. snigbrook (talk) 18:21, 15 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

There are plenty of articles on light rail stations on wikipedia. A lot of cities even have complete sets of 50+ articles on all and each of their tram stops/stations. 188.100.196.71 (talk) 18:43, 13 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Suggestions for improvement

[edit]

The German article has some useful information, especially images of the line network:

Bonn light rail network

and

Bonn streetcar network

that would be useful for the English article as well.--Bk1 168 (talk) 21:38, 5 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Good idea! I've added these two to the article... --IJBall (talk) 21:12, 8 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Proposal to Retitle/Move This Article

[edit]

As this article is about both the Stadtbahn and Straßenbahn lines in Bonn, I think it would be best if this article was changed from "Bonn Stadtbahn" to Bonn Stadtbahn and Straßenbahn. I don't intend to make any move like this soon, but... are there any objections to doing this? --IJBall (talk) 20:35, 8 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

  • Well, when I created the article in 2007 I took the name and structure from the German article, and that article then (and now) covers both parts under the same name. There was a proposal in February on de to split out the article which was rejected on the grounds that the two systems interoperate. I think a shorter title would be preferred, especially since it's in use on the other-language wikis. Mackensen (talk) 20:43, 8 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
    • I think it would be better to have two separate articles, ie "Bonn Stadtbahn" and "Trams in Bonn". This is what has already been done eg for Düsseldorf Stadtbahn and Trams in Düsseldorf (although neither of those articles has been developed very far as yet - they're both on my "to do" list). One of the advantages of having separate articles is that that arrangement enables the (usually much longer history) of the tramway network to be described separately from that of the Stadtbahn. Bahnfrend (talk) 02:05, 9 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
      • Honestly, that might be the best solution, if someone is willing to put in the work. But, yeah - one of the first things I noticed about this page is that there's no history about the Bonn streetcars at all, outside of the unsourced start date in the Infobox. Splitting the page would allow for a more in depth history of the Bonn Straßenbahn to be written up... --IJBall (talk) 18:29, 9 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
        • I'm willing to do the work, but it won't necessarily be done quickly. What I will do in the near future is create a start-class "Trams in Bonn", article using material translated from the de.wiki article on the Stadtbahn. We can then take the two en.wiki articles from there. Bahnfrend (talk) 04:16, 10 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Proposal To 'Split Off' Bonn Straßenbahn Into Its Own Article

[edit]

I would like to split the Bonn Straßenbahn part of this article off into a separate article - likely to be entitled Trams in Bonn to make it consistent with all other articles on German tram/Straßenbahn systems.

Currently, this is pretty much the only article on a German city public transit train system that bundles the Stadtbahn and Straßenbahn systems together into one article – all other German cities with both Stadtbahn and Straßenbahn systems seem to have them covered in separate articles.

Is there any objection to doing an article split like this? Comments welcome.

If not, I'd like to initiate the article split around June 1. --IJBall (talk) 03:34, 25 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I agree. Tell you what, I'll create the article myself between now and 31 May, so you don't need to do it. Bahnfrend (talk) 15:15, 25 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Update: I've started working up a draft for a split off Trams in Bonn article. If anyone is working up their own draft, or has suggestions, please post them up here! --IJBall (talk) 05:51, 22 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Update

[edit]

I have now created ("split off") a Trams in Bonn article (with some content taken from this article...).

I will next work on removing the tram portions from this article, and possibly expanding this specific Bonn Stadbahn article with more content translated from the German Wikipedia article. I will attempt to get to that in the next 24 hours or so... --IJBall (talk) 05:15, 14 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
