UK section

[edit]

The UK section of this page is getting a bit messy and I suspect that many of the programmes listed are beyond the definition of what a breakfast television show is. A breakfast television show is a marathon broadcast (at least two hours) containing a mix of news and lifestyle, whereas several of the programmes listed where only a half hour long or are essentially strands in another programme. I'll tidy this section up if there aren't any objections. Väsk 15:12, 12 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Sunrise, Australia.jpg

[edit]

Image:Sunrise, Australia.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Australian past breakfast shows

[edit]

Australia's first breakfast show hasn't rated a mention ! From around 1960 to 1964, ATN 7, now part of the Seven Network produced the breakfast TV show titled 'Today'. From memory is was hosted by Ray Taylor & Peggy Mortimer. Anyone on here have more info on this one ?? Terrybebb (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 05:54, 21 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

UK in 2020

[edit]

I've attempted to update the United Kingdom section of this page. As far as I can tell none of the Local Television Limited or the London Live breakfast programmes still air, so I have moved them to former. If anyone knows the year these programmes ceased please do add it! --Tvcameraop (talk) 16:29, 17 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Canada

[edit]

At some point I have not yet been able to locate in the article history because it happened a couple of thousand edits ago, somebody edited the article to claim that the Canadian term for this type of program is "breakfast television" rather than "morning show". This is not correct: while it is true that one of the Canadian programs has Breakfast Television as its name, nobody would ever refer to Canada AM or Your Morning or CTV Morning Live or CP24 Breakfast or CBC News: Morning or The Morning Show as "breakfast television" shows, in part because using that term would essentially constitute advertising for the competition. So just a reminder: "Breakfast Television" in Canada means one specific morning show, not all of them, and the generic term for all of them is "morning show", not "breakfast television".
