Requested move 18 October 2020

[edit]
The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review after discussing it on the closer's talk page. No further edits should be made to this discussion.

The result of the move request was: Withdrawn. New information says this is not controversial, will request technical move at WP:Requested moves, only participants are me as the "neutral nominator" and the actual person who wants the page moved. BritBowlBritbowl – Recent/2020 usage of the term seems to be more "Britbowl" than "BritBowl." Another editor changed the article and attempted to use {{DISPLAYTITLE:Britbowl}} which does not work (see WP:DISPLAYTITLE). davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 15:29, 18 October 2020 (UTC) davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 15:29, 18 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi David - this is myself who has been trying to get the article up to date and correct.

The article was initially setup in 2006 when the Championship game was renamed - and at the time I think "BritBowl" was the more common format chosen to refer to it.

Over the last couple of years - the formatting "Britbowl" is now more commonly used - both by BAFA, BAFRA and a sizable amount of the Britball community. The very good resource site Britballnow.co.uk - dating to 2016 refers to it as "Britbowl" - http://www.britballnow.co.uk/history-index/britball-finals-pre-2014.html

I've seen a couple of uses of "BritBowl" - but they seem to be become rarer and rarer. I tried to find out how the page could be renamed to the correct title - but was unable to find anything apart from DISPLAYTITLE which obviously didn't work! BAFRA217 (talk) 13:06, 19 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The page Britbowl has more than one edit, so only editors with "page mover" or "administrator" rights can move this page on top of that one. Since you provided a sound reason for moving the page and there is unanimous consent to move the page, I am going to close this discussion early and go to WP:Requested moves to request a "non-controversial" technical move. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 17:30, 19 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
