Inclusion of quotes from colonial explorers

[edit]

I'm gathering new information for the article and want to somehow include quotes from colonial explorers, to illustrate the derogatory perceptions of the ethnic group, as well as explore the time frame in which the actual mass extermination of the tribe occurred. I'll place them below as I collect them:

  1. George Hamilton Perkins - Later on George does venture on shore, and comes to grief by shaking hands with the King of the Boobes, by which he catches an eruption in the skin of his hands. This was the chief on a tribe, who occasionally came down fro the mountains to get supplies, and George afterward learns that they are never know to wash themselves. Indeed, this experience in Africa inclined him to endorse Darwin's evolution theories, except that he asserts the monkeys are rather superior to some negro tribes he saw.[1]

No sources

[edit]

There are almost no sources in this article, which is a shame because it is really interesting, and probably written in large part by someone who knows what they are talking about and has access to appropriate sources.
