"Dance"

[edit]

@Cartoon network freak: I am aware that the article says the song has a "'90s dance sound", hence my quoting that line in my edit summary. A key factor (and in this case, the relevant factor) in determining whether a source supports a musical work being of a certain genre is whether it is explicitly stating the work to be of that genre; describing abstract elements ("feel", "mood", "edge"); parts that do not comprise its entirety (rhythm, chorus, break); using adjectival forms ("bluesy", "funky", "jazzy"); or other non-definitive wording ("influenced by", "has elements of", "-inspired") are all non-satisfactory in this respect. Although the text is suggestive of the song being dance, it never explicitly states it. Having a "'90s dance sound" or a "dance influence" is not the same as being dance. Even discounting this, listing dance as a genre is unnecessarily redundant, since salsa is already a genre of dance music. Whichever way you look at it, there is no reason to list dance as a genre. The problem with this is that this song is not salsa. At all. Unless you’re deaf, you can easily tell. ―Born2bgratis (talk) 20:43, 10 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
