Hi all, the cold weather biking article is back, after being deleted for having zero references and 100s of unsourced statements. As well, I'm sure the "how-to-guide" style didn't help either. Who added a lot of these unsourced statements? I did, so I am in large part to blame for getting the article deleted. To make up for having caused the article to get deleted, I have created the start of a new article, this time using a reference for each sentence. To avoid getting this article AfD (deleted) again, please use references to biking magazines, books or websites for all additions. As well, do not put WP:OR original research in the article like I did the first time around. Original research is something you know or learned from experience. Great for blogs and chat pages, not good for Wikipedia. As well, avoid adding "tips" or suggestions on winter biking, because WP articles aren't supposed to be how-to guides. Use WikiHow for contributing your "how-to" ideas and tips on winter biking. Thanks!OnBeyondZebraxTALK 20:32, 15 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

If you are making an addition, instead of saying "You should not use thin tires because they will not have enough traction", try to take out the instructional tone and the word "should" and add a source (rather than just using your own biking experience). This could be rephrased as "According to Sue Smith, editor of WinterBiking.com, some bikers do not use thin tires because they believe that these tires do not have enough traction."[1]OnBeyondZebraxTALK 03:57, 16 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
