So I need a bit of closure with Asenfelter. I live across from Asenfelter Rd. Next to Olympic rd. There HAS to be a connection?? Help me out. Was this his farmstead 70+ years ago? Was the road named in his honor? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2600:4040:70FB:F300:C04B:2CAF:1CB4:3081 (talk) 02:41, 26 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

History of the name

[edit]

17:21, 21 October 2016 (UTC)65.88.43.2 (talk)This article asserts: "In 1869 the German Reformed Church founded Ursinus College just outside Freeland, and the village changed its name to Collegeville."

I came to this article from the article "Ursinus College", where section "19th Century" directly contradicts this assertion: "In 1896, the town of Freeland officially incorporated as the Borough of Collegeville, the name the Pennsylvania Railroad had given the place in 1869—because of the Pennsylvania Female College; and not, as many believe, because of the then brand-new Ursinus. However, in years since, the “college” in Collegeville has come to mean Ursinus." 65.88.43.2 (talk) 17:21, 21 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
