Pending results of review of the draftified article

I think this page was unfairly moved this page to a draft status. While it may be a newer rivalry in the NFL, it did have some sources from notable news agencies and web pages, moreso than any of the rivalries from the NFC East (see Cowboys–Eagles rivalry, Cowboys–Giants rivalry for example), which are all rather prominent in the league. Many of the NFL rivalry pages in general do need work, and if we deem that it's not possible, we should merge many of those pages into National Football League rivalries, including this one if no further work is possible to improve this page.--WuTang94 (talk) 22:57, 16 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@WuTang94: Why have you gone straight to a full-blown thirty-day formal WP:RFC, when, so far as I can tell, none of the suggestions at WP:RFCBEFORE have been tried? Have you, for instance, asked Sam-2727 (talk · contribs) directly, on their talk page? --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 23:51, 16 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Redrose64:Apologies for the outburst. I'll remove their name from here and if needed, can de-escalate this discussion to a deletion review.--WuTang94 (talk) 23:56, 16 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Response to Inquiry into move to Draft Space

[edit]

Hello talk, sorry for the confusion, I should've explained myself more clearly in moving the article to the draft space. My original thinking when moving it to the draft space was that this didn't seem to differ from any two football teams. The articles you have posted don't seem to address some notable rivalry beyond what one might expect from two regular teams in competition. Quite a bit of the article seems to not mention the rivalry, but games between them (that don't seem to be different from any other football game). Upon looking at the sources further, they do seem to be indicative of some sort of rivalry. However, looking more in depth at your sources does seem to indicate more than I originally though with respect to the significance of it. Thus, I will move it back to the mainspace. I would recommend though that you make the article more explcitly about the rivalry and less background (of which most of the article is). Also less about rivalries that could be expected of any two regular teams (that is, that don't have a so-called "rivalry") could help make the notability less ambiguous.

Finally, I would like to clear up some misconceptions about the draft space you seem to have. Getting an article moved to the draft space shouldn't be considered a point of antagonization. The draft space isn't that big of deal. An article can be moved back to the mainspace from it at any time by any user. It isn't the same as deletion: no consensus is required. Hope this helps in the future. Sam-2727 (talk) 00:22, 17 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I think what originally led me to believe the topic of this article might not be notable is the tag at the top. I think it should still be there until clarification is brought though. Sam-2727 (talk) 00:23, 17 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Also generally deleting a speedy deletion outright is not the right course of action. I have added it back for maintainance purposes. I will be able to move this to the mainspace once the mainspace redirect is deleted. So just wait a day or two and I'll move it back. The speedy deletion on the redirect does not mean the article will deleted. Sam-2727 (talk) 00:26, 17 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Sam-2727: It's alright. I probably overreacted anyways. I just wrote this article to follow the general flow and structure of other NFL rivalry pages, many of which, honestly, need a lot of work, and was a bit startled when this page was seemingly targeted over pages with more issues. I just didn't know if you were an experienced editor or a troll abusing their newly-gained page reviewer abilities, but you do seem to know some of Wikipedia's lesser-known rules pretty well. I submitted the page for review anyways, but can work on it a little bit.--WuTang94 (talk) 00:40, 17 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
AFC is horribly backlogged, so if you want to wait for that review, it will be a couple months (I don't want to review it myself since it would be best to have a third party). Would you rather wait for that review to see what happens, or just have me move it back to the mainspace (I'll do it in three days so you can work on it in the meantime). @Sam-2727: Haha good point. Yeah, I'll let you do your thing.--WuTang94 (talk) 01:05, 17 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
