Unethical behaviour

[edit]

An IP has added some serious allegations concerning the unethical treatment of fishermen in international waters. If this material has substance, then it belongs in the article. However, in view of this disclaimer, I have, for now, removed the entry. --Epipelagic (talk) 16:05, 31 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Suggestions for improvements

[edit]

My suggestions for improvements (I don't have time in the near future to make them myself though):

  • The lead seems to contain text that is not in the main article; the lead is going into too much detail, not a good summary.
  • Article is missing sections with economic figures (or links to other articles that contain that). EMsmile (talk) 09:56, 20 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
The main article needs to be broadened with international facts and figures (these are only in the lead). At present the main article is overly US-centric. The article would benefit from treatment by an expert within the fisheries sector. ASRASR (talk) 11:26, 11 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I agree with this, and along with that, the article can be strengthened by adding crucial topics such as small-scale fisheries and their conflicts with global commercial operations. A more comprehensive exploration of international tensions, particularly around fishing rights and regions, is needed.--DaProfe (talk) 08:17, 9 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
