COI

[edit]

It is not clear why there is a COI tag on this article. Is it historic and can it be removed? Ottawahitech (talk) 15:05, 2 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Probably because OF the contributions of the long-blocked user:Concordia Recruiter. It's pointless to still have the tag up 5 years later with no explanation, and any contentious edits should have long since been dealt with. Tag removed. Meters (talk) 19:29, 3 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The line "Although the university has indicated its intention to continue relationships with Lutheran organizations and alumni, in November 2015 Concordia controversially removed references to Christianity from its mission statement, effectively self-identifying as a secular institution.[7]" Comes off as speculative and non-neutral. Especially evaluating the bias in the source. Should this be removed or reworked? This comes off as COI to me. Thoughts? FrustratedOmega (talk) 15:54, 9 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Naming

[edit]

I removed the name reference to "Concordia University of Alberta" is there is no official documentation from the School or from the Alberta government recognizing that name. FrustratedOmega (talk) 17:56, 18 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The new name may not be in use yet, but there are WP:RS to show that the government has approved the name change. See "Alberta names five new universities" (Edmonton Journal, July 2, 2014) for example. Meters (talk) 18:41, 18 September 2014 (UTC)[1][reply]

The new name is Concordia University of Edmonton. It came into use on May 01, 2015.[1]

Timeline

[edit]

Is the timeline on here necessary? Can this be worked into the history article and removed? I'm still working with the history section a bit trying to make it sound more informative and less marketing speak. FrustratedOmega (talk) 20:17, 4 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I agree that converting the timeline info into prose in the history section would be an improvement. Meters (talk) 21:09, 4 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Feb 2016 Cleanup

[edit]

- New logo and Crest images obtained by contacting CUE at President@concordia.ab.ca. As per "http://governance.concordia.ab.ca/office-of-the-president/" President prefers the "Dr" title over "Rev. Dr" - Affiliation with Lutheran Church Canada ended in 2014/2015 with the suspension of Church work programs. (http://www.canadianlutheran.ca/concordia-university-college-of-alberta-suspends-church-work-programs/) - Removed External Links to other private universities as they have no affiliation with CUE. - Removed Digital camera pictures of Crest and Logo as new images have superseded them
