Seperate Article?

[edit]

Is it worth having a seperate article for these December 23rd earthquakes? Two major ones, one a 6.0, both striking in the same day, much like in June. There has also been a lot of liquefaction as well as power outages and a few injuries. There's has also reportedly been more damage in the cbd.

I'm not likely to write any artices myself, but I was wondering whether or not it would be worth adding a link to the Christchurch Earthquake disambiguation page.119.224.106.237 (talk) 04:00, 23 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

This one is as bad as June, so I would say yes. But I'm not going to write it; I'm officially over earthquakes by now! Schwede66 04:30, 23 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
It may be worth having an article if this is declared a "separate event" for insurance purposes. It will be a few days before that happens. For the time being, lets deal with this in the main article.-gadfium 04:43, 23 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
There are a lot more insurance events in Christchurch than we have earthquake articles. Boxing day was one, for example, but there isn't an article for that one. This one will be an insurance event, given that some (red stickered) buildings have collapsed. Schwede66 05:00, 23 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
