Page DERP protection

[edit]

Would it be necessary? (Refer to this for reason) -- 李博杰  | Talk contribs email 07:02, 20 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

We get a fair number of attempts to add this sense of "derp", which in my opinion is covered well enough under the "BASEketball" sense and shouldn't be emphasized past that. However, again in my opinion, the current rate of such edits is low enough to be manageable, so it's not necessary to semiprotect the page. If it ever gets ridiculous, I would support semiprotection; disambiguation pages don't often need heavy editing. Gavia immer (talk) 16:41, 20 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I believe that this page SHOULD be semi-protected... the vandalism amount is getting ridiculous. --123.118.233.6 (talk) 08:40, 20 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Agreed, I just took a look at the history, however I believe that the internet meme should be mentioned. --Beanie0 (talk) 22:18, 20 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Could there be a redirect to the actual disease on here? I'm trying to find it. Sticknuke007 (talk) 05:17, 6 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
You mean Strabismus? Cross-eyed redirects there. --Florian Blaschke (talk) 17:54, 25 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I have submitted this page at WP: Requests for page protection under indefinite semi-protection here. 069952497a (talk) 01:40, 17 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Why is there no derp article? it can reference kym — Preceding unsigned comment added by 209.240.41.49 (talk) 17:48, 19 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Derp is also becoming an expanded acronym for DRP (which stands for Deficit Reduction Program, a kind of furlough where one is expected to work on furlough days), and may be used as either a noun or verb in this sense. To say you have been "derped" means that you have been furloughed without a corresponding decrease in workload. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2620:0:5080:80:817F:60C0:D135:AEA2 (talk) 20:17, 2 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The only way to describe derp is derp. Derp is the way a human can act. It could be out of randomes or stupididty. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.129.127.252 (talk) 19:28, 4 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Why

[edit]

Why is this page here? Is it really noteworthy enough for Wikipedia? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.240.167.251 (talk) 14:10, 16 October 2014 (UTC) Butter[reply]

Egmond aan Zee, a village in the Netherlands commonly referred to as Derp by locals.

[edit]

Really? The Egmond aan Zee page says nothing of the sort.
