AEDP draft is in User:Carrieruggieri/accelerated experiential dynamic psychotherapy

[edit]

Please help me improve the AEDP article. It was deleted from the main space and put into the above user account. The issues that need attention are: weasel words: non-committal statements not backed up by reference; essay style, not encyclopedic style: too much explanation, not enough summary. Apparently, the map of change process appears to be a 'how to'. The style also appears to be promotional. The content however, is thorough and well documented by non-primary sources. A editor does not need to know the content area in order to fix the problems or make suggestions to me. Thank you to anyone willing to help make this a good article for wikipedia. @WikiprojectPsychology Carrieruggieri (talk) 23:46, 7 December 2022 (UTC) Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Psychology[reply]

AEDP™ instead of Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy

[edit]

Can someone help with this please: AEDP Institute is in the process of claiming AEDP™ as a trademark and needs to systematically remove the old acronym (Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy) from digital publications like Wikipedia, and replace the 4 words with, simply, AEDP™. It's fine to explain somewhere in the article that AEDP Psychotherapy as originated by Diana Fosha in her 2020 book, began as an acronym of those 4 words, but today it has outgrown the acronym; the model is much more than those 4 original words. Now the model is simply known as AEDP.

How do I go about having Diana Fosha's Wikipedia page updated to reflect this?

AND, where is the main AEDP (Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy) page? It was up and now it's down. Masica Schultz (talk) 20:09, 11 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Masica, the AEDP article was removed from the main space because it was perceived as promotional by the editors. It needs to be re-written in a more neutral tone. I don't think wikipedia cares about a trademark detail, but when an acceptable aedp page is published you can re-ask this question. Carrieruggieri (talk) 15:27, 2 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
By the way, Wikipedia does not use trademark symbols; see MOS:TMRULES. It's probably OK here on the talk page, but it would be edited out if added to a mainspace article. Biogeographist (talk) 20:30, 2 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@polygnotus:I recently linked AEDP knowing there is no longer an aedp article. I did this as a way to invite someone out there to re-visit re-writing the article. When a term is linked in red it usually leads to a wikipedia statement that says, "you can create this article" (or something to that effect). @Polygnotus reverted my link. What is the reason? are you of the opinion that aedp is not noteworthy for wikipedia? Carrieruggieri (talk) 14:40, 2 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I created a redirect from AEDP to Diana Fosha § Accelerated experiential dynamic psychotherapy for now. AEDP used to redirect to Accelerated experiential dynamic psychotherapy before the latter was a redirect. There is an article history at Accelerated experiential dynamic psychotherapy that should be preserved. If anyone wants to create a new article on AEDP, they should request that the Accelerated experiential dynamic psychotherapy page be moved to AEDP, and then start editing the moved page with the previous history intact, even if the content is completely new. That would prevent repeating what some editors consider to be the mistakes of the old article, because the history of the old article and its talk page (and deletion discussion history) would be readily available. I just tried the link it doesn't link to the aedp page. it links back to the aedp section of Diana Fosha page. Carrieruggieri (talk) 17:33, 7 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, for technical reasons it can't link to Accelerated experiential dynamic psychotherapy because that article is itself a redirect currently. Biogeographist (talk) 22:31, 7 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
How would one reach that page if they wanted to work on it? Carrieruggieri (talk) 16:51, 14 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
If someone wanted to write a new article on AEDP, I would recommend using the procedure at Wikipedia:Requested moves/Controversial to request that Accelerated experiential dynamic psychotherapy be moved to Draft:AEDP and page protection removed. (That will preserve the edit history of the old article and its talk page.) Then edit Draft:AEDP and submit it when ready via the Wikipedia:Articles for creation process to have the draft article moved back to mainspace. I do not recommend bypassing the AFC process; that's what I did the last time you wanted to move the article back to mainspace, and apparently that pissed off other editors enough that they protected the redirect. Of course it is probably a waste of time trying to promote stuff on Wikipedia. And an article is not necessarily a good thing because you will not be able to control its contents. Quite a few people would rather not have an article than have one that lists all their misdeeds and failures. WP:FAMOUS Wikipedia will probably appear in the search results above the AEDP institute website so suddenly Wikipedia will be able to control what 99% of people read about AEDP and not the institute. For example, Charlie Benante would rather not have people know about his domestic dispute. But now it is on Wikipedia forever. Polygnotus (talk) 11:39, 3 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
