I noticed the article's creator translated "Dodentocht" as "Death March". This is incorrect: the word "doden" means "the dead" (as in "dead people"), so the accurate translation would be "March of the Dead". "Death March" on the other hand translates as "De tocht van de Dood", which is cool and sounds very spooky (I'm thinking "Grim Reaper in hiking boots"), but it isn't what the march's name intends to communicate at all.

Sorry for being such a nuisance, but in this case, the error completely disconnects the translation from the intent of the original Dutch name. And an event such as this deserves all honours. An accurate translation may serve to give English speakers a better feel for what the march is all about. Also: I think it looks pretty cool.

That is right, so I adapted the translation in the article. Kareldorado (talk) 10:05, 15 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Is it named in Dutch? Or Flemish? They speak Flemish in Begium. MidlandLinda (talk) 22:44, 14 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Flemish is a Dutch variant. Officially Flemish is not a language, but if you do use the term "Flemish" you refer to Dutch as spoken in Belgium indeed. The main differences between Dutch as spoken in Netherlands and Belgium are the usage of some words and expressions that are not used in the other country. The word "Dodentocht" can be used both in Belgium and the Netherlands. Kareldorado (talk) 08:21, 15 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
