Info

This needs info on primary and secondary education too. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Alphaboi867 (talkcontribs)

Expansion

This article is only a list of (mostly red) links to educational institutions. It is not encyclopedic at all and that's a shame because there's much to say. I'm not qualified to describe Argentina's educational system, but I'm sure some important points could be mentioned. The long list of institutions should be moved away (or turned into a category). I'll see if I can do that without turning the article into less than a substub. --Pablo D. Flores 12:25, 13 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Couldn't help myself and added a chunk of history, but the current details are still missing. Important points: primary-secondary school system (prior to the nefarious Ley Federal de Educación); current system (EGB, polimodal). --Pablo D. Flores 13:05, 13 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Polimodal system was considered a failure by goverment authorities. As for next year the system will be of 6 years for primary school and 6 years for secondary school. http://www.lanacion.com.ar/nota.asp?nota_id=1180010 —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mathegui (talkcontribs) 21:56, 12 October 2009 (UTC)

The national educational system has been modified in 2007 by law 26206. We have now 6 years of primary school and 6 years of secondary school. 2011 will be the last year of the Polymodal system. The national system has been upgraded and re-tailored giving emphasis to technical secondary schools. The city of Buenos Aires (Ciudad Autónoma de Buenos Aires), capital of the country, has always retained the old system of 7 years for primary school and 5 years for secondary school. 200.41.229.66 (talk) 13:43, 27 July 2010 (UTC) Miguel Sorensen.

I created a template, Template:Education infobox which can give a quick at a glance demographics table for education articles. See its implementation at Education in the United States and feel free to help improve the template.--naryathegreat | (talk) 00:59, August 7, 2005 (UTC)

The template seams pretty USA oriented. I'm not sure its flexible enough. -Mariano 10:36, 8 August 2005 (UTC)

I think it's rather general, as long as the linked articles stay general (if not, they have to be generalized/internationalized). Flexibility is another matter; are there other specific bits of information we should have? --Pablo D. Flores 10:52, 8 August 2005 (UTC)

Well, I'm not sure what does the System's date means, there no % of national product, and the Image should use a method (no image formating) for those articles without a picture. Also, I think gross numbers mean a lot less than percentage of the population in the age of each level of education. -Mariano 11:19, 8 August 2005 (UTC)

Salvaged text from List of fields of doctoral studies in Argentina

The following text has been salvaged from an article deleted per Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of fields of doctoral studies in Argentina, because some of it might usefully be merged into this article. — Sebastian 08:07, 13 December 2009 (UTC)

The doctoral fields of study in Argentina are generally research-oriented doctoral studies, leading mostly to the awarding of the degrees of Doctor of Philosophy, Doctor of Science, Doctor of Medicine and so on. Studies that lead to the achievement of the highest academic title in Argentina can pertain to a wide academic offer as long as the candidate have been achieved with a prior Licentiate or Master degree title of an akin knowledge area of study.

The doctoral fields of study in the Latin American docta might pertain to five fields of knowledge[1][2]: Applied Sciences, Basic Sciences, Health Sciences, Human Sciences and Social Sciences. The doctoral studies offered by the Argentine universities include multiple fields and do have national and international validity of the degrees granted.

The academic regulations of the doctorates, and their corresponding fields, in Argentina prescribe that all graduate courses must be accredited by the National Commission for University Evaluation and Accreditation[3].

This entity stands as a public and decentralized body working under the jurisdiction of the Department of Education, Science and Technology. It is aimed at securing public faith by means of evaluation and accreditation systematic processes of all the Doctorate programs, and it is responsible for the institutional evaluation of all at a national level.

Regarding doctorate programs, the academic act sets out that the National Commission for University Evaluation and Accreditation must provide all of them with accreditation, such graduate programs by including the Doctorados (PhDs), by stating they fully agree with the standards set forth by the Ministry of Science and Technology[4] together with the Universities Council.

Additionally external evaluations[5] of the doctoral programs are carried out by the National Commission for University Evaluation and Accreditation) or private entities created to that effect, together with the participation of highly competent academic peers. The Argentine Higher Education institutions voluntarily provide accreditation to some of their courses of studies which are externally evaluated by renowned international entities in order to maintain high quality standards and improve the academic services they render.
