History Section - Copyvio

[edit]

I have deleted the History section of this article as I believe it is a violation of wikipedia copyright policy (see here) - it is a direct copy of this page.

Even if permission has been given by the original author to reproduce the text on wikipedia, the text still may be a violation. This is because text used on Wikipedia from elsewhere must be licensed under the GFDL, which basically states that text can be freely copied anywhere.

If the original author is happy to release the content under the GFDL, then there is no reason why the history section should not be put back. It would be a good idea to make a note here that the author has released the content under the GFDL to prevent further assumptions that this article is a copyright violation.

For more information, take a look at WP:COPYVIO.

Copy & paste move

[edit]

This article was subject to a cut & paste move which violated GFDL on May 29 2007. I have merged the article histories together but the combined may look a little funny to the casual observer - just pointing out why. Qwghlm 18:32, 29 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Farnborough Town F.C. demise

[edit]

I feel there should be something in the history section about the demise of Farnborough Town - the link to the article about the old club just brings you back to this page and all history of the club prior to 2007 has been deleted due to perceived copyright infringement. It's a shame as there is now very little online about the old club — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2A02:C7D:5053:4100:DCBC:8000:E15F:9F6F (talk) 13:42, 19 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
