the full load was not around the 3,000 tons? not 2,500 of the article, also the standard displacement 2,050 would be the design not the actual (over 2,250). the LNT 36 limit for Destroyers was 3,000 tons standard so the Fletcher was the first class w/o treaty limit displacement but this limit was not the reason that the previous class was under 2,000 tons standard, i'm sorry for my bad english — Preceding unsigned comment added by 95.246.212.15 (talk) 14:04, 17 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Have you got a source for that?Tirronan (talk) 04:26, 29 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The ARMAMENT section covers only through the end of WWII. Fletcher-class destroyers served into the 1970's with continued changes. The three twin 40mm mounts were eventually replaced by three twin 3"/50caliber mounts. No I don't have a acceptable citation from a "reliable" source -- I simply served aboard one of them. Hopefully someone can provide more complete information and a "reliable source" citation. N4aof (talk) 21:54, 11 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
