GE Capital does in fact securitize some of the debt it originates

[edit]

See this link, from the GE website. http://www.ge.com/investors/investing/asset_backed_securities.html So it may not be fair to say that it holds all of its loans on its balance sheet. 138.16.105.250 (talk) 22:50, 17 October 2011 ()

Neglects to mention that GE Capital is used for tax evasion.

[edit]

GE uses GE Capital to "lose money" in the US while "making money" overseas, so that on paper they have a net loss in the US and they can indefinitely defer tax payment on their overseas gains. [1] 75.76.213.106 (talk) 09:12, 12 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Except that's not tax evasion, that's limiting tax liability. Just like you do on your taxes. Markvs88 (talk) 13:08, 12 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

"GE Capital focuses primarily on loans and leases that it underwrites to hold on its own balance sheet rather than on generating fees by originating loans and leases, then selling them to third parties" Huh? THat's such a clever way of camoflaging the true exploitative nature of Finance Capital. Read Lenin — Preceding unsigned comment added by 8.225.200.133 (talk) 17:23, 12 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

the opening of this article reads more like a press release than an encyclopedia entry. feels off to me216.235.251.140 (talk) 14:47, 23 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I agree, and there's no sources in that section except the first sentence explaining they're financial services. Reads like GE wrote this. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.8.102.106 (talk) 08:28, 16 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
