Adding a New Section

[edit]

Starting the article with a brief explanation of what Growing Up Female: A Personal Photo-Journal is and is about didn't do much to help the reader understand the full scope of the story, especially when it was only for 1-2 sentences. While the History section does help with that, in reality, it still leaves the reader needing more information. I read over the article and then decided to look up the story to see if I could read a page or two and see what the pictures looked like. To my surprise, around 4 pages had some form of text on them. This could have been assumed by the article that there would be little to no text in a photograph book, but I believe it is important for the reader to know if there is text or not and if it does anything to the story at all. Adding into the article what this text says can help deepen what the story is trying to convey. Extend the history section more by including a part that explains what that text is. Also, we could include any potential articles that might have mentioned this story and more information about the author as well. I have seen the Wikipedia article about her so maybe a brief mention of what her life was like when she made the book could be helpful. A lot of articles about writers and their stories involve a section about what was going on for the writer around the time of a certain book or series. If that period influenced their writing at all. It is safe to assume that there were plenty of things going on for women at the time, but what was going on for the writer herself? Her book was the star of many articles and the impact it had on American society so looking to see if there was anything Haymen said regarding the impact of her book would be beyond beneficial to the article. Here are some sources and articles I found that will help.
