Regimental March of The Halifax Rifles (RCAC)

[edit]

Goodday, I am writing you as the current Commanding Officer of The Halifax Rifles (RCAC), LCol M.D. Rogers. Upon review of the wikipedia page for my Regiment, I have noted that the side paned of the page erroneously denotes "Lutzow's Wild Hunt" as our regimental march when, in fact, it is "Huntsman's Chorus". Would it be possible to have this corrected as it does appear to be causing some confusion during the planning of ceremonial events with the Canadian Army when used as a reference. I would also add that the correct name of the Regiment is The Halifax Rifles (RCAC) - it requires a"The" at the front of the title. Michael David Rogers (talk) 17:29, 4 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I have corrected the infobox to show "Huntsman's Chorus" - this fact is supported by the Directorate of History and Heritage's page on the regiment. As for The, it was removed from the article titles for all Canadian regiments. You can read the discussion about this change. Briefly, Wikipedia uses the most common name of an entity for its article titles, which is sometimes different from the official name. Indefatigable (talk) 20:24, 4 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
thanks very much and fully understand the justification regarding the article title 2605:B100:146:DF:E9A9:A49F:D6E7:2F70 (talk) 22:51, 4 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
