I know this could become a bone of contention with some, so I wanted to see if we can get a consensus on here about whether or not The Needle Drop is a professional music critic or not. My vote is for no, but since there are others here that this it is (and I don't want to get into a revert war), I've just decided to let other music critics out-talk The Needle Drop (especially if that's the only really, really, negative review out there). I have absolutely no problem with listing negative reviews on here, but let's be sure to try to get a firm consensus on what is a professional music critic, as well as adding more reputable music reviews to this article. Thanks! Garchy (talk) 20:52, 26 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I can't speak for whether or not the Needle Drop is considered a "professional" reviewer under normal circumstances, but what I think makes the review unfit for inclusion on the page is that it was not conducted professionally. Fantano was pretty personal in his attacks on the band, and did not offer compelling analysis of the record. He merely compared it to other post-hard core bands he liked better and gave it a bad review because it wasn't an album by one of those bands. Anything sounds stupid if you talk about it in a sarcastic way. There was no objectivity to his review. I'm in favor of removal. Mrkite6270 (talk) 23:43, 28 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I do tend to agree with you, but that (fortunately and unfortunately) is exactly what a review is - a person's own taste. I don't personally like any of his reviews, but for WP:NPV reasons I believe it best, for now, to leave the review, but just to keep it as an outcast among the other very strong reviews. He is entitled to his opinion, and it should be reflected here since other reviews of his are, but if he is the only negative review of the album it won't be too hard for others to see he's just blowing hot air!

Already has been discussed before at the WikiProject albums page Wikipedia:WikiProject_Albums/Sources#List_of_unreliable_sources_.28with_link_to_relevant_discussion.29 with a consensus to not allow his reviews as they fail WP:SPS because they are self-published youtube videos. Thank you for providing, Andrzejbanas, with that we can now close the debate and have The Needle Drop removed! Garchy (talk) 16:04, 2 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
