Clarification needed

[edit]

On 23 September, I found this article with the text as found here. The text was as follows:

Rivera Sánchez was appointed on September 15, 2010 after two (2) months of constant debate between the Senate and the shuttle diplomacy of the Executive (government) acting as mediator between the Legislature and the arguments presented by the student body of Puerto Rico[1] who are seeking remedies to put an end to the socioeconomic crisis faced by their outer institution.
Rivera Sánchez is fully engaged to every woman neither-or-say... but safe from the dangers of a new male generation.

I endeavored to clear up this article for the following reasons:

  1. Per WP:MOSUNLINKDATES, dates are not to be Wikilinked unless the linked date is germane to the topic of the article (i.e. if this particular event is one of the significant events listed at the linked date).
  2. There is no need to use the "(2)" after the word two. It is assumed that the readers of the English Wikipedia know that "two" and "2" are the same thing.
  3. The sentence "... constant debate between the Senate and shuttle diplomacy of the Executive..." makes no sense. The word "between" requires two participants, such as "between the Senate and the Executive" but the Senate cannot debate with the shuttle diplomacy.
  4. The link to Executive (government) is too general. The specific person involved was the Governor of Puerto Rico, and the link should be as specific as possible.
  5. The last sentence of the article makes no sense at all (I'm not even sure what "neither-or-say" means). Perhaps it made sense in Spanish but didn't translate well, but in English it has no meaning.

After I cleaned up the article, USLS1 (talk · contribs) apparently decided that my clean up was inappropriate and restored the text to its original version. In order to avoid an edit war, I will leave the revision as it is for now, and allow other editors to weigh in on the topic. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 12:17, 25 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
