Definition of "suburb" vs. "town"

Given that Jimboomba and nearby localities are now part of Logan City, is it still appropriate to call them "towns"? Even though they're not really part of the contiguous urban area (yet), I think being defined as part of a city would make "suburb" the more appropriate term.

I don't know if it's been discussed elsewhere, but this does seem to be the standard across articles for other south east Queensland locations - for example, there are said to be suburbs on the Gold Coast (which is a city) but towns on the Sunshine Coast (which is not). 115.131.19.152 (talk) 13:57, 12 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
