Title

[edit]

La Famille Bélier. It hasn't been released in any English-speaking countries other than the UK so far, and this is the UK title.[1][2][3] Film Fan The EFAs translate all titles into English, but that's not right for Wikipedia unless those titles are widely used. WP:NCF 15:42, 8 November 2015 (UTC)

Nope, unless you do not count Canada, Australia and New Zealand as English-speaking countries - which is not true, obviously. Repeating what I've said before, The Bélier Family is the official international title - not only used in the theatrical/video release of the above countries but also by several film festivals, international awards body (e.g. EFA) and IMDB (a widely used movie database) as well. Would have no questions if this is the French wiki, but the English wiki advises to use the title more commonly recognized by English readers. Gomuse17 (talk) 17:23, 8 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Still doesn't open in Australia/NZ for a while so hold your horses on that one. And with Canada you have a tossup between the DVD and the iTunes page. Film Fan 17:39, 8 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Influence?

[edit]

I haven't seen this movie, but what seem to be key plot features are like those of the earlier Beyond Silence: Daughter of deaf parents interprets for parents, falls in love with music, and strikes out on her own. Is this just a coincidence or not? Kdammers (talk) 23:06, 24 December 2021 (UTC) @Kdammers:The plot of this film similar to Kahamoshi: The Musical, a 1996 Bollywood film. I think the writer/director lifted the plot form there, or both of these films inspired from anathor film, we should mention it in Influence or production section.Rock Stone Gold Castle (talk) 12:17, 16 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
