The tag suggesting "cleanup" of "references"

[edit]

I have doubts about the tag suggesting "cleanup" of "references" may be needed. The sources in this article are primarily the most prominent and appropriate for the subject: The leading newspapers of Kansas -- particularly rural Kansas, where Steckline's prominence is most significant. These include the principal newspapers of most of Kansas' largest cities:

Primary sources have generally only been used where they are the obvious foremost authority, and their publication is essentially self-documenting (e.g.: Statements from organizations giving awards to Steckline, used only as proof they did; press releases by government officials declaring they have appointed Steckline to a post, used only as proof that they did; press releases or statements from various enterprises identifying Steckline's roles within their organization, etc.) -- not as sources for controversial or debatable assertions.
