Liberty Triangle

[edit]

Does anyone know what businesses they are planning to build in Liberty in the triangle between 35, 152 and 291?

Also, have you heard anything about what the city is planning to do to ease traffic conjestion in that area? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 159.140.254.10 (talkcontribs)

A Starbucks is coming, that I know of, almost directly where they're putting Gary Crossley Ford.—Preceding unsigned comment added by IShawn (talkcontribs)

Second High School

[edit]

They plan the second High School to open sometime in 2008, but that estimate has changed many times. --IShawn 20:01, 21 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Last I heard it's still 2010. However, State Senator LuAnn Ridgeway (who happens to represent Liberty) has proposed a constitutional amendment that would increase of percentage the district can borrow from 15 percent to 20 percent. This could bring the new high school into being a year or two early. --KHill-LTown 22:33, 18 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It will be 2010 at this point a year later. They're stuck on their timeline because of building and hiring timing. Even if they wanted to I doubt they could speed up their timeline any. --flyingember

Words from Liberty

[edit]

Late at night on television in the early 1980s and probably earlier there used to be short "inspirational" messages called "Words from Liberty," which gave Liberty, Missouri as an address; it was evidently unconnected to the Liberty Memorial in Kansas City. I believe it was some sort of religious organization with a campus (I remember once stopping there briefly out of curiosity but can recall little about what it was, exactly), but if there is such a site, surely it ought to be mentioned here. Whatever the matter, there are no relevant Google hits for "words from liberty" so it's either dropped out of the collective unconscious or the phrase is slightly different.  ProhibitOnions  (T) 18:55, 25 September 2006 (UTC) My memory was failing me. It was "Words from Unity" not Liberty, and came from Unity, Missouri, also near KC.  ProhibitOnions  (T) 02:58, 9 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Liberty in Phelps County

[edit]

Consider adding a note to this page that there once was a Liberty Township in Phelps County, Missouri. See "A Directory of Towns, Villages and Hamlets of Missouri" Pnoble805 (talk) 02:55, 23 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
