I believe that Wu Yi Fan should not have "Kris" appended to it. "Kris" is the stage name given to him by S.M. Entertainment, therefore it would be unfitting to add it to his real name. I also think that Yifan's birth name should be left as "Li Jiaheng"; "Li Jiaheng" and "Kevin Li" are two separate names, with the latter being his English name used outside of China.

I don't need a map to guide me, my heart will find the direction. 12:55, 7 October 2013 (UTC)

Please change Kim Jun-money to Kim JoonMyun or Kim Junmyeon. His name should be respected. Other readers might think that "that" is his real name. I know this might be a joke to you but please make it right. This is a public information. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/EXO_(band) Suho's name is Kim Joonmyun Ksmstyle (talk) 09:19, 5 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hello there. Can you change Kris real name in your article 'Wu Yi Fine' into 'Wu Yi FAN'? His real name is with 'Fan' not 'Fine'. Thankyou before. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Krisxoxo (talkcontribs) 08:39, 27 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Individual images

I changed some but am having trouble figuring out who is who in this image. If you tell me, and like the idea, I will make individual images and add them to the rest of the article. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 13:57, 3 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Dear stupid people,

[edit]

STOP THIS:

Kim JunMyeon ?

NO. That is not his stage name.

Suho, born Kim Jun-myeon (김준면) this is how you do it,

it's also not Lu Han. It's Luhan. Simple. Luhan is his stage name. Lu Han is a whole different story. Change that.

Also, stop with the jokes. Kim Jun-money? Are you fucking kidding me? This is not tumblr, grow up. This fandom...

사랑하자, 엑소 We are one!

We are not fans here as you think we are... We community of Wikipedians follow only what guidelines tell us and we have been doing that for years, way before even this group made debut... In this case we use the guidelines for the naming convention of articles on people biographies... see the guidelines below...
See WP:STAGENAME which says, "The name used most often to refer to a person in reliable sources is generally the one that should be used as the article title, even if it is not their "real" name, and even if it appears to pass judgement on the person." So all articles of entertainers are required to mention their most popular stage name in the heading title.
See WP:BIRTHNAME which says, "while the article title should generally be the name by which the subject is most commonly known, the subject's full name should be given in the lead paragraph..." So all articles of entertainers are required to mention their full birth name in the leading paragraph that follows the heading title.
Take Onew for example... Heading title has the most popular stage name 'Onew' appearing in reliable media... But the lead paragraph starts with full birth name 'Lee Jinki'... I hope you understand this... FudgeFury(talk|sign|contribs) 15:33, 29 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Own articles

All the individual articles have been redirected here upon discussion, see for example Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Lay (singer). I request all fans that please keep in mind that EXO members are not notable outside of their band, as they have not had activities on their own, therefore they should not have individual articles unless they start individually appearing in notable movies or television series or release solo albums. Xiumin & Luhan

Please change the following two parts in the "List of EXO Members"

1. Under Xiumin,

Change: "Note 25 --> Remove"

Comment: Note 25 is incorrect. Xiumin was indeed born in 1990; he went to school with those born in 1990 or early 1991. In EXO showtime 3, it meant he was nearing 25 (24 in the western system of age counting). It was just a roundabout way of saying things in Korea.

2. Under Luhan

Change: "to attend Yonsei University as an exchange student" --> "to study Korean at the Language Institute of Yonsei University."

Change: "the Seoul Institute of the Arts" --> "Seoul Arts College"

Comment: Luhan's photo is at the website of Seoul Arts College: http://www.sac.ac.kr/main/index/index001.jsp

At the beginning of the Xiumin section it still states that he was born in 1990, and is age 24. This is incorrect as it states his real birth year as being 1989 in the same section, further down in the paragraph. It also states his real birth year as being 1989 in the main Exo article in the members section here. Sarahandjane (talk) 14:09, 21 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Please provide a reliable source to his birthdate, as the official SMTOWN website does not provide this information. Teemeah 편지 (letter) 12:52, 23 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I don't have a reference for his actual age but I think it should at least be consistent on the pages, instead of listing his birthday at two different things. Or just not include it at all or instead put something like [unconfirmed] next to his age.

Sarahandjane (talk) 06:58, 24 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: please provide reliable sources that support the change you want to be made.  LeoFrank  Talk 06:37, 27 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
My request isn't about his actual age it's about the consistency of the article, if you're going to state that his age is one thing and then state that it's another somewhere else, you should at least inform the reader that neither is confirmed so as not to cause confusion or make the article seem like it's full of misinformation by stating two separate ages as though they're both correct. You can see here that his birth year is listed as 1989, and then here it states contradictory information that he was born in 1990. They cannot both be correct so I suggest they either be changed to one, or listed as an unconfirmed age.

Sarahandjane (talk) 15:41, 27 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Done The problem is that, as explained at East Asian age reckoning in the Far East "Newborns start at one year old, and at the beginning of lichun (usually February 4th, sometimes February 5th), one year is added to the person's age. In other words, the first year of life is counted as one instead of zero. .... Since age is incremented on the beginning of solar term rather than on a birthday, people may be one or two years older in Asian reckoning than in the Western system."

This also explains the statement here "EXO's Xiumin is now 24 years old (25 in Korea) as he was born on March 26, 1990"

Several other lists also refer to March 26, 1990 so I have stuck with that, and explained how he could announce he was 25 in Korea, whilst he would only be 24 in the West. - Arjayay (talk) 16:54, 27 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Since Suho, Baekhyun, Chanyeol, D.O, Kris, Lu Han and Chen have their own articles, would it be advisable to just cut out their descriptions in this article and leave it to just their article links? Tibbydibby (talk) 23:02, 16 October 2014 (UTC) [reply]

Please change Kai's birthplace from "...on January 14, 1994 (age 20) in Seoul, South Korea." to "...on January 14, 1994 (age 20) in Suncheon, South Jeolla Province, South Korea." It would also be great if you could hotlink Suncheon to its article. I really don't understand why all the pages keep saying he is from Seoul. He mentioned in a few places himself that he is from Suncheon originally, and both the Korean wiki pages (for EXO and for Kai) state that he is from Suncheon. https://ko.wikipedia.org/wiki/%EC%B9%B4%EC%9D%B4_(%EA%B0%80%EC%88%98) https://ko.wikipedia.org/wiki/EXO-K

Creating separate Pages for each Member

[edit]

(I'm still sort of getting into the editing side of Wikipedia so I don't even know if I'm actually sending a request to the right page or what, so hopefully If I'm doing something wrong somebody please tell me what to do and where to go)

I use Wikipedia as my main source of info for everything and I've noticed many other kpop groups such as VIXX getting separate pages for their members and I was hoping if that could be done for EXO. I had a previous account which I used to edit frequently but I stopped using it around 4 years ago so I created a new one. I was hoping someone who could tell me how to create new pages and what do I need to do to get permission to create pages for the members who don't have pages. I am not some crazy fan and I'll follow the systematic method of making an artist's page if possible or atleast help in. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Vanshb (talkcontribs) 16:39, 27 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I wouldn't, without obtaining consensus here first, which would require a reversal of the last decision.
As you can see at the top of this page, there were separate articles for each member in the past, but these were merged into this page. The consensus was that, until they had undertaken significant projects outside of Exo, they did not merit a page of their own. As en example, if you look at the history of the Oh Sehun page here - you will see that a separate article for him has been deleted 4 times in the last 11 months. - Arjayay (talk) 17:02, 27 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
You have to be able to prove independent notability for each person without citing any work related to their group. The bigger the group is the more likely an editor will take issue if they aren't really meeting that notability standard and submit the page for deletion. That's not to say you can't try to make those pages but it's been done before for several of these members and they were deleted. I don't think Sehun has done much new on his own since the last time his page was deleted. Peachywink (talk) 23:39, 27 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
