El Reno Tornado Death Toll

[edit]

I really do want to see a better source for the currently listed death toll of 13. This figure seems to be the combined death toll in the OKC area from tornadoes and flooding. I have not much to convince me that the death toll from the tornado itself was higher than 7. TornadoLGS (talk) 16:45, 3 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Yes. I agree with you, but I didn't want to get in the middle of an edit war. NWS Norman should release info on that soon anyway. United States Man (talk) 16:52, 3 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
The reports are all over the place. All the reports are mixed. Some say 13 just from the tornado, some say 13 total, some say 7, etc... I personally think it's best to go with the 7+ as well. FWIW, the details from the reports only clearly state 5 certainly from the tornado (The TWISTEX team and a mother/daughter). Cyclonebiskit (talk) 16:57, 3 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Those five were the only ones that I have heard personally as well. Shall we change it back? United States Man (talk) 19:00, 3 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

EF3+

[edit]

I think we should list the Bennington tornado simply as an EF3 rather than EF3+. Even if meteorologists believe the tornado to have reached EF4 intensity, the official rating stands at EF3, and this is not the only tornado we have listed that is widely regarded to have reached a higher intensity than indicated by the official rating. We should reserve such designations as EF3+ for preliminary ratings with surveys still underway. TornadoLGS (talk) 00:58, 8 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
