There are a lot of bad links on this page that need disambiguation. Many editors have worked on this one word at a time. Perhaps the editors who have an interest in this page could work on it too. --Steven J. Anderson 21:17, 2 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Specifically links that are not dead, but go to a page which is incorrect for the subject at hand.-Nathan Schmidt P 9:14 ,25 Nov 2014 (CST)
Is one section at a time a step forward? I did the casting section (I didn't add/keep redlinks, though, partly because many of them are already discussed in the Casting article). Kingdon 22:13, 2 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Organization

Isn't knurling more relevant to the "Finishing" section rather than the "Turning" section? (I don't feel strongly enough to just move it, though.) Dan Griscom 11:23, 6 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I could be persuaded otherwise, but it seems to me that it fits better in "Turning". I guess because it can be done with a lathe. But then does knurl rolling fit under "Stamping" or "Coining" or some place like that? Maybe "finishing" isn't so bad (although it strikes me as cutting a bit more deeply into the surface than the other techniques currently there). I don't know. No such classification can be perfect. Perhaps there is a non-wikipedia classification we should base it on. Kingdon 19:23, 6 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

re-name and move content to new articles

[edit]

This article should be re-named Taxonomy of production processes in metals manufacturing and then three new articles would need to be created:

Taxonomy of production processes in plastics manufacturing

Taxonomy of production processes in glass manufacturing

Taxonomy of production processes in timber manufacturing
