Proposed Deletion

[edit]

I am strongly opposed to the proposed deletion, as the topic "Los Carayos" is really quite notable within the French rock music scene.

The first couple of sentences of the French Wikipedia article should help to clarify this: "Los Carayos est un groupe phare de la scène rock dite « alternative » parisienne de la fin des années 1980. Los Carayos est cependant plus à considérer comme un « supergroupe » (comme Blind Faith) plus que comme un groupe standard, au sens où il n'est composé uniquement que de musiciens majeurs évoluant parallèlement dans leurs groupes respectifs de l'époque." Translated, this means "Los Carayos is a leading group of the Parisian alternative rock scene of the end of the 1980s. Los Carayos is, however, to be considered more as a "supergroup" (like Blind Faith) than as an ordinary group, in the sense that it was composed exclusively of major musicians evolving in parallel in their respective groups of the period."

If I have time, I will translate the rest of the (brief) French article. I am happy for the above to be incorporated now in the English Wikipedia article. Presently I am preoccupied with serious family health matters. AussieBoy (talk) 08:52, 13 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I'm also opposed to the deletion of this article. Los Carayos are relatively well-known in Spain at least, which is not strange considering that Manu Chao is an enormously successful singer. --SugarKane (talk) 20:40, 6 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Definition of 'Carallo'

[edit]

I've just removed the 'citation needed' in the sentence that says that carallo/caralho means 'penis', since it can be trivially verified in any Galician/Portuguese dictionary (e.g. this, this, this or this). --SugarKane (talk) 20:40, 6 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
