Significance of new page

[edit]

Hello! This page was created as part of a Wikipedia Edit-a-thon on reproductive justice. We created a page for Luz Alvarez Martinez because she is a significant Latina leader of the reproductive justice movement whose work has been underappreciated. Her papers are archived at Smith College, which also holds the papers of the National Latina Health Organization of which she was a co-founder, and she is studied in scholarly histories of the reproductive justice movement, therefore we believe she is both significant and part of a neglected demographic on Wikipedia that should be better represented.
