Date of birth

[edit]

I came to this article looking for a WP:RS for Maynard's date of birth to support another editor's addition of that information to another page. Not finding one, I added a {{cn}} tag to the assertion of her date of birth in the lede of this article - the only place it was asserted. Subsequently, the {{cn}} tag was removed but no source provided. Ok, I get that you might not want that cluttering up the article but removing the tag and leaving the unsupported material is bad form. I've removed the asserted DOB. Speaking of "bad form", your reason for doing both of those things through an {{In use}} template is..? Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 17:28, 26 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Not edited in 7 hours (and that edit by Arjayay) means the template is stale. The template is to prevent edit conflicts - not assert WP:OWNership. Shit or get off the pot. Toddst1 (talk) 17:33, 26 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Charming. And misleading. There was but ten minutes between my edit and yours. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 18:31, 26 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Enough of your distraction. As a WP:PAID editor, are you going to come up with a source for that DOB or not? Did you make it up? You've got some professional standards to uphold so get with it. Toddst1 (talk) 23:09, 26 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I was not paid to write this article. Your ad hominem attacks are unacceptable. I note that you do not dispute my account of the relevant editing history. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 23:38, 26 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Let's see, your user page says you are a "Wikimedian in Residence." As a professional, I would have figured you might have read WP:PAID, the section specifically on Wikipedians in Residence. And you're a pro? Wow! Toddst1 (talk) 02:08, 27 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Abuse of "In use" template

[edit]

Pigsonthewing has installed a {{In use}} template at the top of this article since its creation a few days ago. From the template documentation:

"The tag is intended to inform people that someone is currently working on the article, thereby reducing edit conflicts. Please do not leave it in place for more than the few hours at most that should be necessary, as doing so may unnecessarily discourage others from contributing to the article. If it has been up for more than two hours since the last edit, it should be removed."

Accordingly, I have removed it. If it is re-asserted, please don't forget to remove it when you knock off. Toddst1 (talk) 23:35, 26 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
