Why is this needed

[edit]

This seems to be a definition with little chance of developing into a mature article. Shouldn't this be [perhaps merged and] redirected to List of mathematical theories? - dcljr (talk) 04:27, 23 April 2017 (UTC) See theoretical physics. Ema--or (talk) 16:44, 20 February 2021 (UTC) Don't agree. have you seen the discussions below? Ema--or (talk) 22:38, 20 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I added a dictionary hatnote. Volunteer1234 (talk) 13:20, 25 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Important edit

Great article, explains how axioms vs arithmetic truths fall into the making of mathematical theory. But one of the statements near the end needs some work: “The singular accomplishment of axiomatic set theory is its ability to give a foundation for the derivation of the entirety of classical mathematics from a handful of axioms.” Mike24jd (talk) 09:13, 6 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
