Whoopee party (1932)

Looks like in the MM cartoon list, the Whoopee Party is missing. Since the list is based on production instead of release date, I am not sure that the Whoopee party was also produced in 1932 ? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Whoopee_Party Rwos (talk) —Preceding undated comment was added at 12:46, 15 September 2008 (UTC).[reply]

Phony "facts"

What's going on here? Lengthy synopses and trivia facts have been added for a lot of the cartoons here, and a lot of the "facts" are fan-created rubbish. The non-humanized rabbit in The Klondike Kid is not Oswald; Disney didn't own the rights to Oswald at the time. The gorilla in several Mickey cartoons is named Beppo, not "Ingagi"; Mickey calls him "Mr. Ingagi" in a single scene once, but it's a reference to a gorilla movie of the time, not the character's name.

There are too many errors here for me to fix, but having a thing like this online is quite a disservice. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Ramapith (talkcontribs) 03:48, 22 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Pluto's Party

[edit]

Is there a good reason why Pluto's Party isn't included here? It seems to be an entry in the Mickey, not the Pluto series. -- 2003:7A:8E1A:0:94BA:D12F:758F:11DB (talk) 09:32, 30 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Question about Mickey Mouse's voice

[edit]

I know that Walt Disney voiced Mickey in the Mickey and the Beanstalk segment from Fun and Fancy Free, but didn't James MacDonald fill in for a few parts in said segment? 71.95.33.45 (talk) 21:16, 18 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

You are correct, according to the Fun and Fancy Free article.: "Disney had provided the voice for Mickey Mouse since his debut in 1928, and Fun and Fancy Free was the last time he would voice the role, since he no longer had the time or energy to do so. This was sound effect artist Jimmy MacDonald's first turn at doing Mickey's voice, as he dubbed in additional lines due to the fact that Disney recorded most of Mickey's dialogue in the spring and summer of 1941." Colorized version

[edit]

I think one vital information missing is that the early b/w shorts have also been broadcast in colorized versions since the 1990s. I remember seeing colorized versions of Plane Crazy as well as of The Spider and the Fly (1931; I still have a self-taped VHS of the latter, taped around 1996). Shown during regular classic Disney cartoons marathons, they kinda stick out like sore thumbs for the colors looking much more crude and dirty compared to the glorious full rainbow in Disney's genuine Technicolor shorts. --2003:EF:13CE:6A02:FC92:5A1F:3ACC:D13 (talk) 14:00, 1 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Columbia

[edit]

Columbia did not distribute a Mickey short until Fiddlin' Around (1930) if they had distribute a Mickey short prior to that short Iwerks would had already had a falling out with Walt yet there is a photo of Walt Disney, Ub Iwerks, Wilfred Jackson, Les Clark, Jack King (who was not at the studio when The Barn Dance released), Johnny Cannon and Ben Sharpsteen (who also was not at the studio at the time) indicting that Disney and Iwerks were still pals at the time and Pat Powers had not had a falling out with Walt yet

Missing numbers?

[edit]

Unless i'm missing something, there is no 88th, 91st, or 95th cartoon. Is there a source for the installment numbers? 69.42.159.19 (talk) 03:21, 7 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

so looking around a bit it looks like before they were reclassified as part of other series, Mother Pluto was 88, Don Donald was 91, and Modern Inventions was 95. Should there be a note about that somewhere? 69.42.159.19 (talk) 03:42, 7 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I think there should Bedivere (talk) 05:58, 11 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
